Almond paste recipe – free easy almond marzipan recipe for cake decorating



Almond paste recipe - Almond paste, just like fondant, is a very versatile icing. Not only can it be used to cover a cake, it can also be used for modeling on cakes, from flowers to fruits and human figurines. With the right texture and color, this icing, which is also known as marzipan, can be used to decorate a cake in any way you want.




Ingredients :

240g ground almonds
60g castor sugar
120g icing sugar
1/2 tbsp brandy
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla essence
1/8 tsp rose essence




Method:

Mix ground almonds, icing sugar and castor sugar in a large bowl.

Add vanilla essence, brandy and rose essence. Mix well. Finally add the beaten egg, a little at a time, until the almond mixture comes to a kneading consistency. It is not necessary to use up all the egg.

Knead well and roll out between plastic sheets to cover a cake.
