Butter Pound Cake

Hi


I made the butter pound cake today using your recipe mine tastes a bit greasy, is this right or did i do something wrong, also is this cake ok with butter cream filling then fondant iced.

Should not be too greasy

Hi Nicky, the butter pound cake is not supposed to feel greasy ( all cakes are greasy but i suppose you mean more greasy than that the cakes normally are). I hope you have measured the butter exactly to the measurement given in the recipe. Also make sure you have creamed the butter and sugar well - until the mixture turns pale, light and fluffy.

As for the filling, yes, butter cream icing as filling and fondant as topping will work well with this cake. I use this combination often.
