Father's Day Cake

Using the basic butter pound cake recipe, I then covered the cake with ready to roll white fondant. I then used food colouring to paint on the cake. The man is fondant.

This is only my 4th attempt at a cake.

Turkey Cake

My grandson stated he wanted a Turkey Cake so I came up with this.

The turkey heads are sugar cookies baked on sticks.

Happy New Year Cake

I used two 8" round pans for this cake and cut into 2 round shapes. Then I used white fondant, covered the cake, then painting. I cut out the shapes & painted with clear vanilla/food coloring. I also used Wilton gold sparkle gel & whipped cream for accents. It was a big hit at our party!

Graduation Cake #1

by Liz Coppus
(Carroll, Ohio)

Bake (1) 1/2 sheet cake
Bake (2) 1/4 sheet cakes
Bake (1) 1/2 round cake (I use a stoneware cereal bowl)

Cut out square the desired size for top of graduation cap in gumpaste. Color to match the school colors.

Frost all three sheet cakes on the top and one long side only. Smooth the frosting or texture the frosting if you like.

Using Tip 223, frost the three remaining sides with the lined side showing (these are the pages of the books).

Pipe border with #12 tip around edges of books.

Using a wooden skewer, press a line down the front long edge of book to simulate a real book.

Pipe "subject" on edges of book and any decorative design you like.

Dowel and stack books on one end of cake.

GRADUATION CAP

Frost and smooth the 1/2 round cake and place on top of base book. Dowel underneath first.

Place gumpaste square on top of 1/2 round. Secure with frosting.

Decorate the borders with a design of your choice.

Top with a DIPLOMA printed from your computer on plain white paper and tied with a ribbon to match school colors.

VIOLA! A great graduation cake with little effort.

Gracie's Christening cake

Christening cake

I Decided to blend 3 different styles, brought together in one theme. There were 2 chocolate layers and one vanilla, covered in sugarpaste. I made the elephant topper a couple of weeks ahead, and made it detachable to have as a keepsake.
