There are many creative ways of decorating cupcake wedding cakes. Most commonly used ones are off course, flowers, be it gumpaste flowers or real fresh flowers. If you are not a big fan of flowers and are looking for other ideas to decorate wedding cupcakes, here is one design I made last year for a wedding
The bride and groom were not particularly interested in using flowers on their cupcakes and were looking for a wedding cupcake idea which is not only simple, but also symbolic of the love they have for each other. So, when I suggested this double heart design, they liked it immediately. And the best part of it all is that the cost of the cupcakes is only a fraction of those cupcakes made using gumpaste flowers or any other more complex designs.
The cupcakes were made in two flavors and I used white and ivory icing to differentiate the two flavors. Next, I used fondant heart cut outs in 2 sizes and 2 colors – red and pink and placed 2 hearts on each cupcake, securing them on with some royal icing.
