(Trenton,Utah)

My daughter and I own a small bakery that we run out of our home .
My daughter does all the fondant and gum paste art ... I do the baking and frosting / icings .
We created the boots in 3 different stages . Waited for them to dry and then they were hand painted with food safe color .... We made little sunflower and daisy cupcakes to go along with the wedding cake ... The customer LOVED it ....

I used the butter pound cake and chocolate moist cake recipes from this website and all the guest commented that the cake was very delicious. I am proud of this cake simply for my in-law's 60th Wedding Anniversary. For this cake I used 7", 9" & 12" cake pans. Thanks to Creative Cake Decorating for the great recipes.

Champagne & Hearts Anniversary Cake

by Monica
(Lansdale, PA)

I designed this cake for an anniversary. The first tier is a 14inch heart shaped cake covered with fondant and I used a quilted design with edible dragees i made by hand and dusted them with 14kt gold FDA approved luster. The second tier is rkt(rice krispie treats) shaped in a heart shaped pan, iced with royal icing and covered with fondant and i used a rubber stamp to put impression of toasting champagne glasses with a heart in between them on the fondant.

I had a skeleton of pvc through the cakes for stability. I made a goblet out of gumpaste, shaping it inside a real goblet and letting it dry for approx 7days, immediately after shaping i put a hole through the goblet so that it would slide onto the pvc pipe. I dusted the goblet with Gold Highlighter luster dust,(www.sugarcraft.com). I constructed the champagne bottle by forming it out of gumpaste and letting it dry.

I also made approx 80 sugar globes and attached them to the pvc pipe to make it look like bubbles coming out of the champagne bottle.

Chocolate anniversary cake

Chocolate anniversary cake

I made this cake for an anniversary. The bottom tier is a 9" Chocolate Cake, and the top tier is a 7" Butter Cake. Both these amazing recipes from this site.
I covered the cakes with rolled Chocolate Fondant and detailed with rolled fondant lace. I've recently been very facinated with sugar models and been practising them for the last one month. These are my first offical sugar model that went on a cake. The couple was thrilled and it really made me proud. If you like to see more of my cakes please visit my site www.theartofcakes.webs.com

 cake pop sphere wedding cake

cake pop sphere wedding cake

i made this cake pop wedding cake in may. This cake is covered in hydrangeas, there are over 1000 hydrangea in the cake. Here are the supplies needed to make this cake: purchase styrofoam spheres(ball) in different sizes (8inch,10,12) you may want to adjust the size depending on how many cake pops needed. I had 300 in my design. i also purchased wilton square 16inch cake base, 1 1/2 inch thick dowel rod( home depot, lowes) hot glue gun. push the dowel through the base (put a piece of cardboard under the base, remove the dowel and fill with hot glue and immediately put the dowel in the glue filled hole and hold it for atleast a minute until it stands on its own and leave overnight to dry hard. this is the post needed to hold the spheres. just put a hole in the middle of all spheres slide onto the dowel. start filling in with your cake pops use white melted chocolate to place the flowers on.

Beach Theme Engagement Cake

by Liz Coppus
(Carroll, Ohio)

Bake (2) 14" round Cakes and (2) 12" round cakes.
Frost and cover with dark blue fondant.
Add a layer (or 2) of wavy fondant to bottom edge to simulate water.

Dowel, center and stack cakes.

Pipe Royal Icing sea horses, fish, hearts, air bubbles, etc on top of fondant.

Make royal icing coral with squiggly lines and "jimmies". The white sprinkles used on cupcakes, etc.

With a leaf tip, pipe royal icing seaweed

Make as many fondant pearls as needed to create pearl border. Using edible pearl luster, paint each pearl (after placed on cake is easier) to simulate real pearls.

Mold some chocolate sea shells and place randomly around cake.

Top with brown sugar to simulate sand and set topper on top.

I made the topper from a gumpaste and fondant mixture and using food color markers for details.
