Wedding Cupcakes

Wedding cupcakes are simply cupcakes decorated and used as weddings or wedding favors. Using cupcakes instead of the traditionally large wedding cakes is fast gaining popularity and a lot of brides and grooms are choosing cupcakes over the normal larger ones for their weddings.

Despite slightly higher cost, wedding cup cakes are very versatile as they do not require cutting, which means estimating the serving numbers of cakes easier. Not only that, a variety of wedding cup cake recipes can be used, creating different flavored cupcakes for guests to choose from rather than the single flavored traditionally wedding cake.

Here is an interesting wedding cup cake design I made recently for a cousin. These cupcakes are not only elegant as wedding cakes but also as wedding favors.

I covered the cupcakes with royal icing and decorated each cupcake with a pastel pink gumpaste rose. Arranged on a tiered cupcake stand, the cupcakes graced my cousin’s wedding beautifully.

Your can also choose to cover the cupcakes with fondant instead of royal icing for a smoother finish. Simply cut out circles of fondant and attach to the top of each cupcake with some royal icing. Make a small hole in the centre of each cake with a sharp knife and poke the rose in it.
